MSU  implemented a five-year (2000-2005) strategic plan for information technology, and has been investing in new technology infrastructure and curriculum since 1997. Surveys of schools and enrollment in college programs have indicated that Missouri has a particular shortage of science and mathematics teachers. This is the area that the MSU  College of Education and the College of Natural and Applied Sciences are eager to develop.
