More "Distance Learning"

Future teachers will acquire knowledge of the design and operation of distance education courses.  Future teachers in this program (10 in Year 1, 20 in Year 2, and 30 in Year 3) will participate in the development and delivery of distance learning high school courses.

To show examples of the application of distance education to learning, future teachers will be involved  with several distance learning activities.  They will help develop and deliver I-TV and on-line courses to high school students, participate in videoconferencing activities, and take courses delivered either through I-TV or on-line.  Additional linkages to alternate learning sites and corporate work-sites will be developed to allow future teachers to see applications of technology outside the academic setting.

Distance education effectively breeches limits of distance and time in a learning environment, giving both student and instructor the freedom and convenience of choosing when and where to conduct learning.
