national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and
disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. Their special
focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).

Science Consortium
advances systemic reform of Mathematics and Science
Education providing meaningful, purposeful, engaging learning in these areas available to
all students. Whenever and wherever possible, the Consortium advocates and promotes the
use of appropriate technology to support and accelerate
systemic reform.

NSTA provides many programs and services for science educators, including awards,
professional development workshops, and educational tours. NSTA offers
professional certification for science teachers in eight teaching level and
discipline area categories. In addition, NSTA has a Web site with links to
state, national, and international science education organizations, an
on-line catalog of publications, and two "discussion rooms" to foster
interaction and ongoing conversations about science education.
