- MISSOURI
ASSESSMENT PROGRAM : SCIENCE
Missouri has developed a performance-based assessment
program (detailed for Elementary, Middle and High school), as called for by the
Outstanding Schools Act of 1993. The law provides that ''The statewide assessment
system. . .shall be performance-based to identify what students know, as well as what they
are able to do, and shall enable teachers to evaluate actual academic performance.''
See standards through 2001.
